On June 10, 2013, I received a form from Leonard B. Bicher which was sent to him by Judy Siver, who has been collecting information about the veterans from the class of 1962.
Leonard B. Bicher recorded on the form that he attended
Hackensack High School from the fall of 1959 to June of 1962 when he graduated. He joined the Navy in September 1963 and served until
September of 1967. He rose to the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class and ETN3. Leonard B. Bicher received the National Defense Medal for his service.
I sent an e-mail to Leonard B. Bicher asking him if he was related in any way to George A. Bicher, the only veteran as of June 2013 that served in the military that we have listed ‘Between Major Conflicts’ of World War I and
World War II. Leonard B. Bicher replied on June 18, 2013, saying that
George A. Bicher, who had graduated from West Point in 1925 was indeed his uncle.
